Run For The Ribbons 5K & Family Fun 1K

STONEYBROOK STEEPLECHASE ADMISSION & SCHEDULE:
All 5K/1K participants will receive a General Admission ticket and parking pass to the Stoneybrook Steeplechase as part of registration. Accompanying spectators will be responsible for General Admission and parking costs for any additional cars. Bring chairs and a picnic - plan to enjoy a day of family fun and racing. The annual Hawkins & Harkness Hat Contest, Stick Horse Races, and Children’s Park activities, with an Easter Egg Hunt, petting zoo, pony rides and rock climbing wall, will provide a full day of excitement. In order to ensure your requested T-shirt size, registration and payment must be received by March 19, 2012.

PACKET PICKUP:
Packet pickup is Friday, April 6, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the FirstHealth Center for Health & Fitness - Pinehurst, 170 Memorial Drive. Packets can also be picked up on race day, beginning at 7 a.m. at the registration tent.

RACE DAY SCHEDULE:
**No strollers, bicycles, etc., allowed due to the uneven terrain. No dogs or other pets allowed.**

Pre-registered and new registrations processed at the Registration Area:
5K ~ 7-8:45 a.m.
1K ~ 7-10 a.m.

Run for the Ribbons 5K ~ 9 a.m.
Opening Remarks at the Starting Line ~ 8:45 a.m.
Awards Ceremony ~ 10 a.m.
Refreshments available at the Food/Awards Tent following the race.

Family Fun 1K ~ 10:30a.m.

From Moore County and points north (suggested for less traffic) :
US 1 South to Rte 15/501 South to Left on Ashemont Road. Right on McFarland Blue Road, this turns into Montrose Road. Follow signs to “Run for the Ribbons” designated parking at GATE #9 on Montrose Road.

From Southern Pines:
From May Street take Indiana Avenue East. Left onto NC 211 at stoplight by the Kolcraft factory. Travel approximately 6 miles and turn Right on Montrose Road. Go 2.3 miles to the Five Points intersection. Continue straight on Montrose, following signs to “Run for the Ribbons” designated parking at GATE #9 on Montrose Road.

From Fayetteville/Raeford:
Route 401 South to Route 211 West to Left on Turnpike Road to Right on Horace Walters Road. Left on Montrose Road at the Five Points Intersection. Continue straight on Montrose, following signs to “Run for the Ribbons” designated parking at GATE #9 on Montrose Road.

From Scotland County, Robeson County, Laurinburg and points east:
Route 401, Left on Gainey Road. Left on Turnpike Road. Right on Horace Walters Road. Left at Montrose Road at the Five Points Intersection. Follow signs to “Run for the Ribbons” designated parking at GATE #9 on Montrose Road.

PARKING:
Parking for all 5K/1K participants will be located at Lot 9 at the Carolina Horse Park, located on Montrose Road. Follow the signs to Run for the Ribbons designated parking lot. This parking is complimentary for 5K/1K participants only. If you park at another gate, you will be charged for parking.

The registration/check-in area is located by the race tower, a short walk (about 300 yards) from the parking lot. Family Fun 1K participants should also allow a few extra minutes for potential event traffic getting to the parking area.

RACE PHOTOS:
Carolina Snapshot Sports Photography will be taking race photos. Participants' pictures will be available for sale post-race at www.CarolinaSnapshot.com. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Cancer CARE Fund.

SANDHILLS RACE SERIES:
Run for the Ribbons is a partner of the Sandhills Race Series (SRS). 100 participation points will be awarded for the 5k as well as performance points to overall and age group winners.
