Starting and finishing on the grassy, steeplechase track, the Run for the Ribbons 5K is a professionally timed cross-country trail race. During the 5K (3.1 mile) race, runners and walkers will leave the track and follow the scenic, rolling eventing course in the woods. From wide open fields to a path across a pond, the out-and-back course will be well-marked with volunteers, mile markers and one water/aid station. Please be aware of your surroundings and footing at all times. The course does include a few tree roots and uneven surfaces.

REGISTRATION FEES:
5K Pre-Registration Fee $25 (before 3/29/12)
5K Race Day Fee $30 (after 3/29/12)

PACKET PICKUP:
Friday, April 6, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the FirstHealth Center for Health & Fitness - Pinehurst, 170 Memorial Drive. Packets can also be picked up on race day, beginning at 7 a.m. at the registration tent.

RACE DAY SCHEDULE:
5K Pre-registered and new registrations processed at the Registration Area: 7-8:45 a.m.

Run for the Ribbons 5K ~ 9 a.m.

Opening Remarks at the Starting Line — 8:45 a.m.
Awards Ceremony ~ 10 a.m.
Refreshments following 5k race and awards.

SANDHILLS RACE SERIES:
Run for the Ribbons is a partner of the Sandhills Race Series (SRS). 100 participation points will be awarded for the 5k as well as performance points to overall and age group winners. www.sandhillsraceseries.com.
